Hey Cat Lovers! If your camera roll is 80% whiskers and toe beans, this one’s for you.

Meet CatGPT—a handy tool from the Cornell Feline Health Center (CFHC) at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Think of it as a science-savvy friend you can ask about cat health and behavior—then follow up with more questions until you’ve gotten a clear answer. Bonus: it can even toss in games and quizzes (because learning is better with a little mischief).

What we tried: We asked CatGPT for the latest advisory info on avian influenza (H5N1) and how it’s been showing up in more mammals—like foxes, cows, and yes, cats.

Then we played a Cat Health game. The first question was: “Your cat suddenly starts zooming around the house at 2 AM like it just drank espresso… then crashes and naps like nothing happened—what’s your call?”

Choices: 1) Totally normal 2) Keep an eye on it 3) Call the vet. The more you answer, the more the game branches into new questions—kind of like following your cat into “just one more room” and ending up on a whole-house tour. You can also steer it toward what you need (kittens, specific behaviors, tougher medical questions) and even ask it to explain the “why” behind each response.

CatGPT is like having a tiny, opinionated feline librarian on your shoulder—except this one actually cites credible info and doesn’t knock your water glass off the desk. Give it a whirl, you can find CatGPT here:
